A message from the owners

As the COVID-19 outbreak has been, and will continue to be, a concern for everyone, we want to share with you how we are managing the situation at The Inn at Houghton Creek. The well-being of our guests, our staff, and our community is our utmost priority. We are closely monitoring the CDC, WHO, New York State, and Allegany County statements regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and will continue to follow the guidelines from county, state, and federal authorities.

  • In keeping with our mission of providing the best quality lodging in the area, every room has at least a 24-hour buffer between guests when possible. When not possible rooms are thoroughly cleaned followed by electrostatic spraying, providing an exceptional assurance of safety.
  • Our enhanced Commitment to Clean now requires double the time and effort to completely sanitize each room to hospital standards.
  • All guests are screened prior to check-in with a series of COVID-19 related questions and asked to follow all NYS regulations while in the building.

Below, we’ve described further more of the measures we’re taking to create a safe and healthy environment for our guests and staff. We’ve also included a detailed list of our procedures and that can be viewed at the bottom of this page. As things change we’ll update our website accordingly.

Our idea for this inn was born twenty-six years ago out of our desire to provide visitors to the Houghton area with comfortable and clean lodging; first-class quality service; and an ambience true to the warm country surroundings of Allegany County. We continue on that path

We are always very much interested in your feelings about our inn and in finding ways to make our guests’ stay with us more comfortable.  Please feel free to share your reactions or suggestions with our Innkeepers, Joanna and Peter, or with any of us.
